Scoping of international standards and best practices for promoting transparency, integrity and accountability of REDD+ mechanisms at national and local levels
Application Deadline: April 27, 2012
City: Home based
Country: .
Organization: Transparency International (TI)
The PAC REDD project is a pilot project operating with TI Chapters in Indonesia, Vietnam and Papua New Guinea. The project seeks ways to ensure that REDD+ evolves with transparency, integrity and accountability enshrined at all stages and all levels. The project has developed a manual to lead REDD+ stakeholders through an assessment of national REDD+ development and / or forest carbon projects in order to identify areas of potential corruption risk. It then leads them through a process of prioritising and analysing these risks and identifying a plan of action to monitor ongoing activities or to advocate for necessary change.
Transparency International is seeking to commission an initial detailing of existing international standards and best practices promoting transparency, integrity and accountability that can be applied to address current risks in REDD+ (a list of key risks will be agreed at the outset of the consultancy).
