Panel weighs inclusion of avoided deforestation in CDM: observer

A panel tasked with deciding the future of the world’s biggest offset market is weighing whether to recommend avoided deforestation projects be awarded with U.N. credits, but only if developed countries boost demand by taking on tougher emission targets, a consultant close to the process said on Thursday.
