Laos: Conservation & forest protection now with MONRE

The government has appointed three new deputy ministers and transferred responsibility for forest protection and conservation to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Mr Vilayvanh Phomkhe last week informed a meeting that serving Director General of the Organisation and Personnel Department Dr Phet Phomphiphak, Director General of the Irrigation Department Dr Khamphad Sourinphoummy, and Director General of the Planning Department Dr Phouangparisack Pravongviengkham as the three new deputy ministers.
The new ministries are the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
