Forest officials in AP, India told to clear pending tribal claims

Collector Siddharth Jain has asked the forest department officials to expeditiously settle the pending claims under the Forest Rights Act (FRA) in the tribal sub-plan areas. The Collector reviewed the status of clearance of pending claims under the Forest Rights Act at a meeting held at the Collectorate here on Tuesday.

 

The officials concerned informed the meeting that 29,479 individual claims were settled under the Act in the agency areas in the district till now. They asserted that the remaining 2,300 individual claims would be cleared soon. 131 community claims were still pending.
